Individual Counseling

The counseling professionals at UHS use brief, goal-focused counseling methods. The staff finds that many personal issues can be addressed effectively in a brief period. If you are looking for more extensive services, you have the option of joining group counseling or receiving a referral to an appropriate community resource.

All sessions are private and confidential. If further assessment and medications are deemed appropriate, a referral to a UHS psychiatry professional can be made.

Stress Management
Stress management keeps you at a healthy and enjoyable level of stimulation by helping you monitor and control stress. This can include individual or group counseling sessions, workshops, relaxation training, perfecting stress management skills, reducing exam anxiety, or even releasing the butterflies you may have about public speaking.

There are also many campus and community resources that can help you combat stress.

  • yoga and relaxation classes at the Natatorium, SERF, or through a Wisconsin Union Mini Course

  • physical education classes
