What Is a Primary Care Provider?
A primary care provider (PCP) is a UHS medical staff person a student sees most regularly during clinic visits. The group of physicians and nurse practitioners who are designated as PCPs work in the Primary Care Clinic, and can cover a broad range of medical services.
We encourage students to see the same clinician each time they come to UHS, as it helps ensure high-quality care. Students may view each provider’s profile to assist in their selection of a PCP. Feel free to ask any of our clinicians about choosing a PCP, or call us at 608-265-5600 if you have questions.
