There is no cure for the common cold.
Hard to swallow isn’t it? (No pun intended if you’re suffering from a sore throat).
If you catch a cold, you can expect to be sick for one to two weeks, and unfortunately, there is no cure.
“But surely a doctor can give me something to make it go away faster?”
If you don’t have a fever and have had your cold symptoms for less than 10 days, a visit to the doctor probably won’t help. You likely have a virus and antibiotics won’t cure the infection or make you feel better. Better to stay home and rest.
“Ok, there isn’t a quick cure…is there anything I can do?”
Ideally you stay home and rest, but realistically, we know that you’re busy and don’t want to miss classes. But that doesn’t mean you have to be completely miserable.
