Big 10 gender-based violence professionals gather at UW-Madison
This week, more than 40 gender-based violence professionals from universities in the Big 10 conference will gather at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to discuss violence prevention strategies and victim advocacy services in higher education.
University Health Services Violence Prevention & Survivor Services is hosting the annual gathering Wednesday, July 12 through Friday, July 15. UW-Madison provost Sarah Mangelsdorf will address attendees at the opening session on July 13.
Representatives from each of the 14 Big 10 institutions will present an overview of their campuses violence prevention efforts and survivor services. Sessions will include addressing alcohol-facilitated sexual assault prevention strategies, working with undocumented students, and cultivating LGBTQ inclusivity in campus sexual assault prevention.
