Part 1: Pathways to Vitality
The first part of this dual session will describe research-based pathways for living a happy, healthy, and meaningful life as a student at UW-Madison. This presentations focuses on many pathways to to living a happy, healthy, and meaningful life while at the university.
Part 2: Practice Makes Better
The second half — Developing a Meditation Practice — will discuss the many benefits of meditation, strategies for developing a meditation practice, and include a practice of a 'Moving Meditation' and one of the most popular forms of meditation, 'Loving Kindness Compassion Meditation.' We have all heard that meditation is “good for you.” Participating students will experience a calmness and vitality following meditation practice and learn all the benefits they will experience if they develop a meditation practice, including improvements in brain function, ability to work under stress, improving decision-making, managing attentional difficulties, improving mood, and improving relationships.
