Marlena Holden

Holden serves as Chief of Staff for University Health Services. She manages internal and external communications and media requests.

Marlena joined UHS in 2015, after more than two years as the Communications Manager at the Waisman Center, UW–Madison. Marlena is thrilled to be part of the vibrant UHS community to help promote public health to students, parents, and the campus community.

During college, Marlena worked at the Campus Women’s Center, and credits that experience with giving her insight in how change can be created by students and for students.

During her career she has worked at a variety of local non-profits and advocacy groups, and at a local advertising agency. Marlena has served on various boards of directors, including Woodland Montessori School, Wisconsin School Public Relations Society, United Way of Dane County’s Campaign Cabinet, Clean Lakes Alliance Citizen Action Committee, and the Madison Election Advisory Committee.
