Students, faculty, staff, and teaching assistants are essential when it comes to preventing suicide and promoting help-seeking behaviors among their peers. UHS offers consultation with concerned third parties.
Associate Medical Program Assistant
Deb Herbrand started working at UHS in July of 2018 as a medical program assistant in primary care, with a background in health care.
“There’s a great sense of purpose at the end of the day when you know you helped someone feel better,” Herbrand says. “And doing away with their [student’s] fears of not feeling well, especially when it’s their first time away from home, is what drew me to coming to the UW side of health care.”
Herbrand loves working with the students and is excited to continue her work here.
