How to Access the Symptom Checker Tool
- Log in to MyUHS with your NetID and password.
- Click on Schedule an Appointment > Student Health Services > Check My Symptoms.

The symptom checker tool can be used whenever you are not sure whether to seek care for a health concern. This could be a new or emerging issue, like an illness or injury, or an ongoing concern. Using the tool, you can find out how serious your symptoms are, if a health care visit is needed, and what steps you can take to relieve your symptoms at home.
While the information and recommendations shared in the symptom checker tool are based on expert recommendations from clinical providers, the information you share through the tool is not reviewed by a provider and will not be provided to your UHS provider if you are a current patient. You may want to save or print the information you receive to reference as you speak with your provider.

The symptom checker tool is only open to current UW–Madison students. You must be at least 17 years old to use the tool. The symptom checker tool is not available to parents or family members of students.

The tool may recommend visiting a local emergency room or urgent care center, seeking care at UHS, or caring for yourself at home.
