Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)
The open enrollment deadline for Annual and Fall enrollments has now passed.
SHIP will accept Spring/Summer enrollments from registered students beginning December 15, 2026.
Eligibility
Domestic Students
For U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents, who are actively enrolled at UW–Madison for at least six credits as an undergraduate student OR three credits as a graduate student.
International Students
For international students registered for class at UW–Madison on any type of non-immigrant status (such as an F-1, J-1, H-1, etc.).
International Scholars
For visiting scientists, professors, postdoctoral fellows, and students in academic training who completed their program of study, or non-degree research project students on a J-1 visa who are NOT registered for classes.
