Call for Help

Laboratory Services

UHS laboratory services are for patients seen at UHS and must be ordered by a UHS clinician. An appointment may be needed for a clinician to order the lab request, but no appointment is necessary to have lab work collected.

For lab testing ordered by providers outside of UHS, consult the list of UW Health Clinical Laboratory locations below that can collect and perform testing. Students will need to register at UW Hospital and Clinics before outside lab work is completed. Call 608-262-1400 to register.

Antibody titers

No appointment is needed for students who were ordered an antibody titer. Drop-in to the 6th Floor Green Clinic weekdays, 9 am to 4 pm.

Lab results

Lab results ordered by a UHS provider are reported in the student’s electronic medical record and sent to the student via MyUHS (unless the provider and the student have made other arrangements). Lab staff are not authorized to discuss results over the phone.

Fees

Most lab tests ordered by a UHS provider are fully covered by the student health fee. If the lab tests are required as part of a third-party physical or study-related requirements (e.g., antibody titers), there will be a fee.
