Call for Help

Men’s Mental Health Month

Approximately 31% of college aged men report they have experienced depression. In support of Men’s Mental Health Month in November, UHS Mental Health Services hosts two events for students to engage in informal conversations about their mental wellbeing. These events are tailored towards men and those who are hoping to learn more about supporting the men in their life. Events are open to all students.

Theme: Real Strength: Why Asking for Help Isn’t Weakness

This panel brings together influential men across campus to challenge the stigma around vulnerability and seeking support. Together, we’ll explore the pressures men face when it comes to expressing emotions, prioritizing mental health, and why reaching out is a powerful act of strength, not weakness. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of mental health, how to spot signs that someone (or themselves) might be struggling, and how society’s expectations of masculinity play a role. Most importantly, this is a space for honest conversation. Come ready to listen, share, and ask questions.
