Biography
Stefanie Denu re-joined the UHS team in 2026 following a variety of experiences working in university counseling centers. She provides individual and group counseling as well as crisis intervention and behavioral health consultation with the medical team.
Approach
Her approach to therapy is based in Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) that incorporates mindfulness and action-oriented strategies with a focus on creating a meaningful life while learning to cope with inevitable stressors along the way.

Professional Interests/Specializations
Stefanie has a background in overseeing training programs and enjoys opportunities to supervise and mentor psychology graduate student trainees. She is trained and certified in STAIR therapy designed to assist with healing emotional and relational impacts of a traumatic event.
Her clinical and professional interests include eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, identity development, and emotional distress related to chronic or acute medical illness.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Stefanie values being a mom, playing pickleball, watching true crime shows, never missing a Packer game, and enjoying all things Disney.
