Student, staff and faculty groups can request one of the workshops described below, delivered by Violence Prevention staff (professional and/or student staff) and adapted for the audience.

ActWIse (bystander intervention)
This workshop focuses on self-reflection and group dialogue to build participants’ skills and confidence in recognizing warning signs for violence, intervening in safe, effective, survivor-centered ways, and taking proactive action to create campus communities free of violence.
Intended audience: Faculty, staff, and undergraduate and graduate/professional student groups
Time: 60-90 minutes
ListenWIse (survivor support)
Most college-aged survivors of sexual and relationship violence first turn to their friends and family for help. This workshop helps build empathy and understanding of the impacts of violence and trauma and teaches concrete skills and strategies college students can use to support a friend who has been harmed by violence.
Intended audience: Undergraduate student groups (e.g. courses, student staff teams, registered student organizations)
Time: 60-90 minutes
Best Practices When Supporting Student Disclosures of Sexual and Relationship Violence
This presentation reviews available campus and community resources, sexual violence terms and definitions, and ways to support students who disclose information around sexual violence.
Intended audience: Faculty and staff groups (including graduate assistants)
Time: 60 minutes
DatingWIse (respectful relationships & dating violence)
This workshop focuses on dating and healthy relationships in college. Using a mix of self-reflection and group discussion, students will explore their own ideas about what characteristics they find important in dating relationships and learn to identify red flags of dating violence.
Intended audience: Undergraduate student groups (e.g. courses, student staff teams, registered student organizations)
Time: 60-90 minutes
SexWIse (healthy sexuality, consent & sexual assault)
This workshop explores healthy sexuality and sexual violence in college. Participants will reflect on their own sexual wants and boundaries and the impact of stigma and social norms on individual choices about sex. Finally, students will learn about sexual violence, coercion, and concrete strategies for practicing consent.
Intended audience: Undergraduate student groups (e.g. courses, student staff teams, registered student organizations)

Violence Prevention Efforts in and around UW-Madison - Graduate Audience
Come learn from UHS violence prevention specialists about campus and community statistics and resources, cross-campus collaboration work, and involvement.
Intended audience: Faculty and staff members that work with graduate and professional students
Time: 35 minutes
Custom trainings
Violence Prevention staff can work with you to identify content on violence prevention and response that is most relevant for your group, including integrating different elements of existing workshops.
This can include education on healthy relationships and sexuality, dating and sexual violence, survivor support and responding to disclosures, bystander intervention and accountability, campus data and climate, best practice messaging, etc.
In particular, we have experience training student employees on responding to harmful situations and promoting positive culture change. Time is flexible based on your group’s needs.
