Sara Beachy Waters

Sara is a Post-Graduate Fellow and Mental Health Provider at UHS. She joined UHS full-time in 2025 after completing her counseling practicum and an internship in care management at UHS.

Sara is passionate about supporting students navigating perfectionism, self-compassion, identity questions, social justice concerns, and life transitions. Her approach is informed by her lived experience as a parent and former attorney, and she values helping students find meaning in their own stories.

Before becoming a therapist, Sara practiced law for 16 years, including as an Assistant Attorney General with the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Outside of work, she enjoys campfires, concerts, and spending time with family. Fun fact: she gave birth to her second child during her first year of law school—and his name was read alongside hers at graduation.
