Biography

Sara joined UHS in 2025.

Sara is a Postgraduate Fellow and Generalist Mental Health Provider at UHS. She joined UHS full-time in 2025 after completing her counseling practicum and an internship in care management at UHS. She provides a variety of support services including individual counseling and group counseling.

Approach

Sara’s approach is rooted in mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), informed by her lived experience as a parent and former attorney.

Professional Interests/Specializations

Sara is passionate about supporting students navigating perfectionism, self-compassion, career and identity questions, social justice concerns, and life transitions

Before becoming a therapist, Sara practiced law for 16 years, including as an Assistant Attorney General with the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, she enjoys campfires, live music, and spending time with family. Fun fact: she gave birth to her second child during her first year of law school—and his name was read alongside hers at graduation.
