Biography
Wendy leads campus-wide suicide prevention and mental health promotion efforts through training, consultation, outreach, and education. She develops and delivers customized workshops for students, faculty, and staff, manages online suicide prevention training programs, and collaborates with campus partners to strengthen policies, resources, and support systems that promote student well-being. Her work focuses on creating a caring campus culture that supports health, help-seeking, and belonging.
Ellis joined UHS in 2023 and chose to work in college health because she believes in the importance of promoting mental health to help students achieve their goals and optimize their experience on campus and beyond. Before starting at UHS, Wendy worked as an educator and mental health professional in K-12 school settings, community agencies, and in student support positions on campus.
Personal interests
In her free time, Wendy enjoys road trips, outdoor recreation, reading, spending time with her three dogs, volunteering with Dogs on Call, and exploring new coffee and brunch spots.
