Alison Thumel

Alison Thumel joined the UHS Marketing & Health Communications team in 2023. Her work focuses on communications related to violence prevention, suicide prevention, and alcohol and drug harm reduction. After beginning her career in employee benefits and wellbeing communication, she taught undergraduate students at UW-Madison and Stanford University during her graduate and postgraduate educations. Working at UHS allows her to merge her experience as a communicator and as an educator to continue to serve as an advocate for students’ wellbeing.

In addition to health communications, Alison writes poetry, teaches comics to incarcerated individuals, and bikes around Wisconsin.
