2026 Survivor Empowerment Mini Terrace Chair
UHS is proud to partner with the Wisconsin Union to present the 2026 limited-edition mini terrace chair.
Behind every chair is a reminder that healing happens in community. A portion of each chair purchased will support UW survivors of dating violence and sexual assault. Chairs will be priced at $16.99
About the chair
The 2026 Mini Terrace Chair features a vivid, prismatic purple finish, the nationally recognized color for domestic violence awareness. The color was intentionally selected to symbolize support for survivors.
Our campus traditions must reflect our campus values. By supporting the Survivor Empowerment Fund through this chair, we are connecting an iconic Badger symbol with a critical mission: ending violence and supporting student survivors on campus.
Survivor Empowerment Fund
The Survivor Empowerment Fund provides financial assistance for expenses directly related to a survivor’s victimization. Support has helped students relocate to safer housing, replace textbooks and school supplies, install home security systems, secure transportation to court hearings, and more.
Below are some examples of the impact of your gift.
Provides a survivor with snack when they come to a Survivor Service appointment between classes.
Provides a survivor with a ride share to the court house to file for a restraining order.
Provides a survivor with one night of emergency housing & peace of mind for the night.
Provides a survivor with a Ring camera, to increase sense of safety and/or gather evidence to secure a restraining order.
Provides a survivor with:
- One week of short-term emergency housing in a safer location, or
- Coverage of medical expenses caused by domestic violence and peace of mind that they are not accruing medical debt due to violence, or
- Replacement textbooks and school supplies destroyed as part of domestic violence.
Provides a survivor with a security deposit and first month’s rent to secure safe housing situation.
Our work
UHS supports student survivors through coordinated advocacy, mental health, and medical services. Survivor Services works closely with Violence Prevention year round to prevent dating violence and support survivors.
Education plays a crucial role in preventing violence on campus.
The GetWIse program offers violence prevention programs to help students understand, address, and prevent violence. The program consists of four modules:
- DatingWIse (Healthy Relationships)
- SexWIse (Healthy Sexuality)
- ListenWIse (Supporting Survivors)
- ActWIse (Bystander Intervention)
